Facilitator Training Manual

The Facilitator Training Manual will incorporate coverage of the relevant theories and core principles of facilitation (as distinct from “teaching”) and of active learner engagement in participatory, experiential blended learning. It will set out the methodological framework to be applied to Facilitator training, provide examples of programme design, training materials and learning exercises and incorporate tools such as self-appraisal checklists in template form, planning inventories and key, selected reading materials.

Auditor Training Scheme

The Auditor Training Scheme will be centred on programme design and incorporate core and supplementary aims and linked learning outcomes, content overviews and outlines, a set of delivery options for each area of content to be covered and checklists and other tools for the Facilitator delivering the training and learning resources, including key readings with accompanying review task outlines for the learners. In addition, it will include materials for a set of practical exercises on various aspects of the Audit process.

Audit Manual

The Audit Manual will take the form of a Workbook to be used by students in the preparation for, undertaking of, and reporting on the Audit exercise that they will participate in.

Its contents will provide the framework for the practical conduct of an Audit, from preliminary to completion stages and include scoping and contracting an Audit, writing a brief and informational material, desk research and secondary analysis of existing documentation and data, the process of identifying issues and further informational needs, planning the audit and identifying/engaging key informants, agreeing the audit programme and finalising roles and deployments of the audit team, developing checklists and evaluation inventories from the (Benchmark) Standards, guidelines on the use and recording and reporting of focus groups, interviews and observations, issues of validity and reliability, ethical guidelines and the process of translating notes etc into reports.

Assessment Manual (including Reflective Learning Guide) and Certification Framework

The Assessment Manual will focus on an ECTS-compatible assessment scheme including performance criteria, assessment guidelines and the like. 

The Assessment Manual will incorporate coverage of the relevant theories and core principles of assessment of the outcomes from participatory, experiential, blended learning. It will set out the methodological framework to be applied to Assessment, provide detailed guidance on the Assessment process, explicit Assessment (Performance) Criteria in relation to assessing online portfolios of evidence, Assessment templates, state requirements for Assessment Moderation and provide templates for the recording of and feedback from Assessments, for moderation and for recording the final outcome from each Assessment and provide both guidance and statements of requirement for the institutions in relation to Certification. It will address the role of the learner in both self-assessment and peer assessment and set out a protocol for the formal use of the outcomes from such assessment in the overall assessment process.
